The goal of this transition is to allow the Mount the ability to better support the needs of our local healthcare providers and to nurture enrollment growth in the Social Work Program.

With this transition, the major(s)/minor(s) that will be moving to the School of Health Sciences under the umbrella of the Department of Social Work are the Social Work Major, Addictions Studies Minor, Social Work Minor, and Gerontology Minor. the Behavioral Science Major, the Sociology Minor, and the Socio-Psychology Minor will no longer be considered in the Department of Social Work, they will now fall under the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the School of Behavioral and Natural Sciences.
