CINCINNATI— Mount St. Joseph University will proudly host its fifth Annual Reading Science Summit: Bridging the Research to Practice Gap on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, bringing together more than 400 educators from across the country for a day of learning, collaboration, and innovation in evidence-based literacy instruction.

“Our summit is not just a conference, it’s a movement,” said Dr. Laura Saylor, dean of the School of Education. “We’re building a national community of educators who are committed to ensuring that every child becomes a confident, capable reader.”

Recognized as a national leader in reading science, the Mount continues to lead the charge in translating research into meaningful classroom practice. This year’s summit features two of the most respected voices in the field: Dr. Louisa Moats, author of "Speech to Print" and the influential "LETRS" professional development series, and Dr. Anita Archer, renowned for her work on explicit instruction and author of "Explicit Instruction: Effective and Efficient Teaching."

In addition to the keynote presentations, attendees will participate in breakout sessions led by the Mount’s doctoral students in Reading Science, who are conducting cutting-edge research on structured literacy, intervention strategies, and effective assessment practices.

The summit is hosted by the Center for Reading Science at Mount St. Joseph University, which is nationally recognized for advancing literacy outcomes through its research, graduate programs, and partnerships with schools and districts.
