You are welcome to accept your offer of Admission and deposit with us at any point. The deposit process records payment of your deposits for tuition and housing (if applicable). In order to accept your offer of admission and pay your deposit(s), please visit your student status page. Mount St. Joseph University requires a $100 Enrollment Deposit which can be paid by credit, debit, check, or cash (cash payment only accepted in-person and not through the mail). The Mount also requires a $100 Housing Deposit if you plan on living on campus. All deposits go towards your overall cost of attending MSJ, and are refundable until May 1 of your enrolling year.
Please note that you cannot register for classes until the Enrollment Deposit has been paid.

At the Mount, you’ll have access to a variety of resources to support your academic success, including our Advising Resource Center. The center offers ongoing support for all first-time freshmen who don’t yet have an advisor in their major department.We also offer an Academic Exploration Program, which will help students find a major that works for them. Health Professions Advising is guidance for students interested in pursuing health care careers following graduation.
Your advisor will review your Math Placement score before meeting with you during Priority Registration Day. The test takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
We strongly recommend that you review for the assessment; students who review algebra and trig concepts prior to taking the assessment often achieve higher scores. The transition to college -- and into adulthood -- starts months, sometimes years, before most students step foot on campus. As a parent, you’ll play a significant part in this transition by guiding your child through the college experience.
Your children will still need you when they start college, but your role will evolve as they begin to take more responsibility for their lives.
Your children will face challenges during their college journey. And when that happens, your support can make all the difference. Remember, you can’t fix everything, but you should take pride in helping your children reach independence and self-sufficiency.
Whether your child lives at home or on campus, college presents a new world of responsibilities and experiences. Students need to learn to manage that new level of freedom by managing their time among many priorities.
In college, students take more responsibility for their day-to-day activities. There are some things you can do to help them get ready.
Even the most prepared students likely will face challenges in college. The best way to help is to simply be accessible and supportive.
As difficult as it may be, avoid “rescuing” them every time they are upset or face a difficult situation. Students often discover their true capabilities when dealing with these challenges. They still need and depend on you, but praise them for signs of maturity, independence and responsible decision-making.
Encourage them to get involved on campus. The academic side of college is important, but social and personal growth are equally important.
Pick your battles. This is a time when students begin to find themselves, what they are capable of, what they believe and who they are. Save the major arguments for the really big issues that matter most. Let the little things go.
