MSJ’s future art educators inspire young artists through a hands-on jewelry-making experience that encourages creativity, self-expression, and learning.
Preservice Art Education students from Mount St. Joseph University recently welcomed Girl Scouts from C. O. Harrison Elementary School for a fun-filled and hands-on art experience.
The Girl Scouts explored the exciting process of creating personalized jewelry using poly shrink plastic. Participants designed and colored their own unique pieces before watching their artwork transform into smaller, durable creations through the heating process. The finished pieces became colorful, one-of-a-kind jewelry that each Girl Scout could proudly take home.
The experience provided an opportunity for MSJ's future art educators to put their teaching skills into practice while encouraging young artists to experiment with materials.
The Department of Creative Arts is proud of its preservice Art Education students for sharing their enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for teaching with the next generation of young artists.
