Rebecca Bode – Computer Science and Social Computing Student

Rebecca Bode is currently a sophomore at Mount St. Joseph University. She is a double major in Computer Science and Social Computing. She also participates in the state-of-the-art cITe program. The cITe program, short for Center for IT Engagement, offers students affordable education, paid co-ops, cohort-based learning, and the opportunity to graduate with a dual major.

1. Why did you choose the Mount?

I chose the mount because I felt a sense of belonging here and there are great opportunities to get involved even for a small campus. 

 

2. What are your majors and graduation year?

My major is Computer Science with a focus in application development and I am a sophomore.

 

3. What inspired you to pursue Social Computing and your other major?

Social Computing and Computer Science really go hand in hand so it really just made the most sense for me!

 

4. What is your favorite part about being in the cITe program?

My favorite part about being a part of the cITe program is getting to know my professors and getting to know my classmates. We do a lot of teamwork which is really great for getting to know my peers.

 

5. What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on so far?

My favorite project I've worked on so far is my secondary research paper!

 

6. Do you have an idea of what career you would like to pursue post-graduation?

I would like to try to pursue a career in Web Development after I graduate.
