The Master of Science in Nursing MAGELIN (MSN MAGELIN) Scholarship

The Master of Science in Nursing MAGELIN (MSN MAGELIN) Scholarship is awarded to one eligible first-semester MSN MAGELIN nursing student at the start of each incoming cohort in January, May, and August. The scholarship total per student recipient is $3,300 and will be distributed during the first semester of the MSN MAGELIN program.

Two nursing endowments support funding for the MSN MAGELIN Scholarship. Additional information about the Catherine Relihan and Nightingale endowments is on the Department of Nursing’s website.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be admitted, incoming first-semester MSN MAGELIN nursing students.
  • Maintain enrollment in the MSN MAGELIN nursing program.
  • Have a weighted graded point average greater than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Submit an application and essay describing their personal, professional, and leadership development aspirations.

Scholarship recipients will receive an award letter notifying them of the nursing department’s decision.

Applicants must submit an application and a 500-word essay describing their aspirations for personal and professional development in the nursing program and leadership activities completed beyond coursework.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS ARE DUE DECEMBER 1 (for the January start cohort), APRIL 1 (for the May start cohort), and JULY 15 (for the August start cohort).

APPLICATIONS ARE COMPLETE ONLY WHEN ALL MATERIALS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
