Mount St. Joseph News

It goes without saying that these are curious and uncertain, almost preternatural times. It seems we have no choice but to focus on just one thing. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of this, it is imperative that we preserve some sense of continuity. That is why it is with great pleasure and greater pride, I present the last issue of Dateline: School Newspaper of the 2020 spring semester, and of my time at Mount St. Joseph University. From being a writer my freshman year to serving as Editor-in-Chief, Dateline has been a consistent joy for me. I have loved discovering new writers and watching others grow and improve. Their talent and dedication never ceases to amaze and delight me, and this endeavor would not have been possible without it. I want to specifically commend my Assistant Editor and fellow graduating senior Katie Drinkuth. She is a beautiful writer, and I have been able to depend on her without fail for these past three years. I know she will succeed in whatever she decides to do. This would also not have been possible without the ongoing support and expertise of faculty advisor Buffy Barkley, Ph.D. I would like to deeply thank her for leading me on this wonderful ride, as well as our team members for making it so smooth. We hope that this issue can provide a light in what may feel like a cloud of darkness.
