Justin Marquart, Health and Exercise Science Major with a Clinical Exercise Science Concentration, Co-ops at FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center
Justin Marquart is currently a Health and Exercise Science Major with a Clinical Exercise Science Concentration at Mount St. Joseph University. Justin participated in hands-on training through his co-op at FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center where he was a Physical Therapy Aide. 1. Why did you choose the Mount?
I chose the Mount because it was one of the closest campuses to my home. It was also a university that offered the major I was looking for. The scholarship money I was offered was also a deciding factor in why I chose the Mount.
2. What is your major/minor/concentration and graduation year?
My major is Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Science. My graduation year is December 2026.
3. What inspired you to pursue a major in the Department of Exercise Science and Integrative Health?
I pursued a major in Health and Exercise Science because my goal is to become a physical therapist.
4. Where did you co-op? Please provide a brief description of duties and the position.
I did my co-op at FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. My position in the clinic is a Physical Therapy Aide. Some of my duties include helping patients with stretches, getting set up on different pieces of equipment, and keeping the clinic clean and ready for the next person to come in.
5. What is your favorite aspect of the Department of Exercise Science and Integrative Health?
My favorite part about being in the Department of Exercise Science and Integrative Health is being able to connect with the faculty on a personal level. There is also a variety of career routes you can take after completing your degree.
6. What are your post-graduation plans?
Post-graduation, I plan on applying to graduate school to get my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.
