Watch a heartfelt video of President and Mrs. H. James Williams extending a warm holiday message to members of the Mount Community.
Dear Mount Community,
Christmas is a time for family and loved ones.
For the past decade, Carole and I have been blessed to be part of the “Mount Family,” which brings to mind so many wonderful thoughts and memories, far beyond the Mount being a world-class university.
We think of the common good, through the kindness that emanates from the daily works and interactions of our students, faculty, and staff.
We think of the spiritual values of our Foundresses, the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati, which are the source for all we do on campus each day.
We think of joy and pride, which are experienced at every performance, every game, every event that takes place within our community.
We think of the reach of our Mount Family, spanning many thousands of alumni across the world, as well as the Mount’s community partners, supporters, and volunteers.
Indeed, the Mount Family is one of the greatest gifts that Carole and I have ever received. During this Advent season of reflection and prayer, know that you and yours are ever-present in our minds, and in our hearts.

As Pope Francis shared more than 10 years ago, this Christmas:
Let us open our hearts to receive the grace of this day,
which is Christ himself.
Jesus is the radiant “day”
which has dawned on the horizon of humanity.
A day of mercy,
in which God our Father has revealed his great tenderness to the entire world.
A day of light,
which dispels the darkness of fear and anxiety.
A day of peace,
which makes for encounter, dialogue and, above all, reconciliation.
A day of joy:
a “great joy” for the poor, the lowly and for all the people.
May this Christmas be one of peace and joy for the entire Mount Family, for each of you, and for all whom you love.
Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
President and Mrs. H. James Williams
