Kurt Grannan, Associate Professor of Creative Arts at the Mount, has been appointed to the Executive Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Art Club.

Kurt Grannan, Associate Professor of Creative Arts, is extending the Mount’s reach into Cincinnati’s vibrant arts community through his leadership on the Executive Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Art Club, described as the second oldest continuously operating art club in the nation, founded in 1890 by a group of artists to promote art through education and community. In his role, Grannan curates and hosts presentations by local artists, prompting opportunities that celebrate creative voices in the region.
The first featured guest under Grannan’s leadership was Michael Thompson, an established Cincinnati artist, the inaugural 2023 Artist in Residence at Studio San Giuseppe Gallery, and a Forbes 30 under 30 recipient. Speaking to an audience of more than 80 guests, Thompson shared his creative process and praised the Mount’s art program, positioning it alongside Cincinnati’s most respected institutions, such as the Cincinnati Art Museum and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
Grannan’s service on the Cincinnati Art Club’s board underscores his commitment to fostering dialogue between artists and the community. His leadership creates meaningful opportunities for local creatives to be recognized while strengthening the Cincinnati Art Club’s reputation as a community where the arts continue to thrive.
