MSJ’s cITe Students Present at the 2024 COF Scholarship Showcase

MSJ cITe Students, Theodore Schulte and Thomas Reno, Present at the 2024 COF Scholarship Showcase

Mount St. Joseph University has a state-of-the-art cITe (Center for IT Engagement) Program. This program offers students affordable education, paid co-ops, cohort-based learning, and the opportunity to graduate with a dual major. Our students are also offered the unique opportunity to work with staff to create a vast assortment of diverse projects ranging from group research to web design and development. One of the major factors that helps make this program more affordable is the Choose Ohio First (COF) cITe Scholarship. This scholarship is for Ohio residents only. Consideration for scholarship goes to incoming students that are double majoring in Social Computing and another major of their choice. Students can earn up to $8,000 per year based on annual funding.

The Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program “awards competitive scholarship funding to Ohio's colleges and universities to support undergraduate and qualifying graduate students in innovative academic programs.” The Mount has a number of staff and students attend the 2024 COF Scholarship Showcase on February 29^th, 2024. The purpose of this showcase is to be a “celebration of the scholars and COF scholarship programs across Ohio. Scholars have an opportunity to display and discuss research, academic projects, and work-based learning experiences they have had during their time as a COF Scholar. The Showcase gives Choose Ohio First Scholars firsthand experience in conference-style presentations and allows them to network with General Assembly members, state officials, and business leaders.” COF Scholarship Showcase

The two MSJ cITe students who had the honor of presenting their research at the 2024 COF Scholarship Showcase were Theodore Schulte and Thomas Reno. The title of the research project they presented on was Beyond Screens: Lessons Learned from Using Technology to Engage Older Adults. Theo and Thomas did a great job representing Mount St. Joseph University and our innovative cITe Program at the showcase!
