Record-Breaking Cohort Marks a Milestone Moment for the Liberal Arts Program
Fifteen Liberal Arts majors presented highlights of their semester-long work in LIB 400, Liberal Arts Culminating Experience, April 22 to peers, professors, family and friends.
This is the largest graduating class in the major since it was launched in the fall of 2016.
Students presented on “big questions” or ideas they had explored and written about. Among presentations were “AI: the Second Industrial Revolution,” “Examining Disability Rights,” “The Wives of Henry VIII: Portrayals Across Disciplines,” and “An Examination of LGBTQ+ Poets.”
Students graduating in ceremonies May 9 include Sharon Bader, Abby Crim, Avione DeVond, Michael Durbin, Laci Fancher, Emily Gantner, Ethan Geiger, Sophie Hirt, Noah Houser, Sebastian Isaacs, Richard Rutherford, Isabelle Snyder, Megan Thompson, Maggie Utley and Emma Weber.
Dr. Jennifer Morris, Professor of History, guided students in their research during the semester.
Two students, Sophie Hirt and Emma Weber, shared the 2026 Department of Liberal Arts Award.
