Mount St. Joseph University's School of Business & Communication will welcome more than 50 high school students from across the region to campus for Emerging Leaders: Women in Business, an uplifting and educational event designed to inspire the next generation of women business leaders. Students from six local high schools—Seton, Badin, Miami Valley Christian Academy, Sycamore, Walnut Hills, and Mount Notre Dame—will participate, including 18 students from Mount Notre Dame and 12 from Seton, reflecting the University’s strong and longstanding partnership with Seton High School.

The event is structured around three key components of leadership development: industry insight, skill building, and inspiration. Students will engage in four breakout sessions focused on timely and relevant business topics, led by accomplished women professionals who will share real-world experiences and practical advice. These sessions will emphasize collaboration, confidence, and career readiness while providing meaningful opportunities for connection and networking.

More than 10 distinguished women business leaders will serve as guest speakers and panelists, including Mount alumna and University leader Melanee Wagener. Many of the speakers are Mount graduates who are giving back to the community by mentoring and encouraging young women as they begin to envision their future careers.

The day will conclude with a keynote address by Jennifer Damiano, a Mount Notre Dame alumna, whose message centers on leadership rooted in connection and empowerment. As Damiano notes, “Strong women business leaders listen, collaborate and connect. Most of all, we lift those around us.” Her words capture the spirit of the event—one that celebrates leadership, service, and the power of women supporting women.
