Mount St. Joseph University Student Run Pro Bono Physical Therapy Clinic – Fall Session Schedule Below!

pt clinic

The Mount’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program provides FREE physical therapy services to underserved and underinsured members of the Westside regional community. A volunteer board of second-year DPT students, with alumni and faculty guidance, oversees all aspects of clinic operation providing a unique preparation in physical therapy administration and management. ALL students in the DPT program will participate in the clinic, simulating a real-world experience prior to their terminal clinical education experiences in year 3. Pairs of students work together to examine, evaluate and treat a patient under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist from the community in a collaborative learning environment. Patients are referred from multiple sources or are self-referred. Our primary goal is to serve community members whose insurance benefits lack sufficient coverage or those without the financial resources to cover co-payments. Students follow their patient for 4 sessions over a 5-week period so they are able to not only develop a plan of care but also adjust it, according to the patient’s response. The clinic runs year-round (each semester, fall, spring and summer) so that students can integrate new knowledge and clinical skills as they learn which provides a rich integrated experience.

The Fall 2023 PT Clinic Sessions start September 12th and end November 18th. Check below for the entire fall schedule or visit our DPT – Physical Therapy Clinic webpage.
