BS in Health and Wellness and Masters in Athletic Training Combined (3 +2 BS/MAT) Degree Applicants:
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness degree program leading to the major in Health and Wellness with a minor in Exercise Science and Fitness at Mount St. Joseph University may apply to the combined degree program following completion of 65 undergraduate credit hours. During the fall semester, students will complete the ATCAS application with all other external applicants. All admission requirements apply minus the requirement that applicants possess a baccalaureate degree prior to matriculation.
Following completion of the first year of the MAT curriculum and all MSJ undergraduate core curriculum requirements, the student will be awarded the Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness degree with an Exercise Science and Fitness minor. The Master of Athletic Training degree will be awarded following completion of the remaining program requirements. Students are eligible to challenge the Board of Certification examination in the final semester of the program.

Academic Standards
After gaining admission to the AT program, degree candidates must meet specific educational requirements to progress and remain enrolled in the program, including:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 as required by the University for all graduate programs.
- Earn a grade of B or better in all Category I clinical courses.
- Earn a grade of C or better in all Category II didactic courses.
Academic Probation
Students are placed on academic probation if either of the following two conditions occur:
- the student earns a “C" in a Category I course.
- the student earns two or more “C”s in Category II courses.
- the student’s cumulative GPA falls below 3.0/4.0.
Program Dismissal
Students may be on academic probation for one semester. Students will be dismissed for any of the following:
- the student earns a second “C” in a Category I course
- the student earns a fourth “C" in a Category II course
- the student earns an “F” in any Category I or II course
- the cumulative GPA remains below a 3.0 for a second semester.
