Biography:

Darlene Tierney serves as Principal Faculty within the Physician Assistant Program in the School of Health Sciences. She obtained her Associates of Nursing in 1994 and Bachelors of Nursing in 1996 from Xavier University. Her professional career began as a registered nurse where she worked in various areas, mostly in critical care. She obtained her Masters of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner studies from Northern Kentucky University in 2000, and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Darlene then practiced in the field of cardiology for 20 years at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Kentucky. Over the last 3 years she has worked at The Christ Hospital, and played an integral role at starting and growing the region’s first Women’s Heart Center.


Darlene lives on the east side of Cincinnati with her husband, three children and two dogs. She is the varsity volleyball coach at McNicholas High School. She also enjoys bike riding, playing volleyball, travel and spending time with family and friends.
