The community is invited to honor the legendary radio personality and voice of Cincinnati radio, Jim Scott, at a special celebration of life event on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Mount St. Joseph University. This celebration of life will reflect on Jim’s remarkable personal and professional journey through music and storytelling.
A Celebration of Jim Scott: Music and Memories honors the life and legacy of Cincinnati radio legend Jim Scott on the first anniversary of his passing. Jim was beloved for his positive outlook, kindness and tireless voluntarism. He met the indignities of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, with grace and courage. This event benefits the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neurological Institute's ALS Clinic Endowment Fund to provide hands-on assistance to Greater Cincinnati ALS patients.

- Doors open at 5 p.m. Visit Jim Scott memorabilia in the Mount St. Joseph University Theatre Gallery. Cocktails and baskets raffle chances will be available for purchase in the Theatre Lobby.
- Event begins at 6 p.m. in the University Theatre. Expected show run time: 2 hours.
The evening will be hosted by longtime friends and colleagues, including:
- Mo Egger, ESPN 1530
- Denny Janson, WCPO
- Brian Combs, Morning News Anchor, 700 WLW
Special tributes will be made by other local personalities.
The program will also feature performances by local musical talents:
- Vocalists: Nancy James, Pamela Myers, Sean Kelley, Lady Joya, Sara Winsted, Elder High School Glee Club.
- Musicians: George Bruce (drums), Jan Diehl (bass), Geoff Pittman (guitar), Greg Dastillung (Music Director).
Sponsors for the evening include Kroger and Grippo Potato Chips, with additional community support from donors and raffle basket sponsors like Elder High School.
All proceeds benefit the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute ALS Clinic Endowment Fund in Jim Scott's name to provide hands-on assistance to Greater Cincinnati ALS patients.
