Mount St. Joseph University conducts regular surveys and assessments that measure learning outcomes as well as student satisfaction. Highlights of two recent surveys follow:

Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory 2008

The Noel-Levitz Student Satisfaction Survey (SSI) measures student satisfaction with various college services as well as student ratings on the importance of these services. The Mount received above-peer satisfaction ratings on more than 70 items. Data from four campus-generated questions also yielded high marks for these topics:

  •     Experiences at the Mount that contribute to growth as an individual
  •     Opportunities for professional experience though cooperative education and/or internships
  •     Courses at the Mount that enhance critical thinking skills
  •     Emphasis on values and ethical responsibility.

National Survey of Student Engagement 2009

The 2009 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) was conducted on college and university campuses across the country. Survey results show that Mount freshmen rated the University in the top 10 percent of the colleges and universities that participated in the survey for providing a supportive campus environment.

The Mount offers a variety of support services that are available to all students, such as the Learning Center, Career & Experiential Educational Center, Wellness Center, peer tutoring, and the Learning Center. Along the way, professional staff in a variety of roles offer guidance and support.
