In today’s interconnected world, the ability to build bridges across cultures, beliefs, and experiences is essential for creating communities rooted in respect and belonging. The MOSAIC Scholars Program meets this need by cultivating student leaders who embody mentorship, outreach, solidarity, appreciation, inclusion, and community.
By investing in their potential to lead with empathy and celebrate diversity, the program empowers Scholars to enrich campus life, strengthen community connections, and advance the Mount’s mission of honoring the dignity of all persons.
Key Program Components:
- Leadership Development: MOSAIC Scholars strengthen their ability to lead with integrity, courage, and vision. Through workshop, campus involvement, and peer collaboration, Scholars learn to navigate challenges, amplify underrepresented voices, and create spaces of inclusion and belonging.
- Cultural Awareness and Appreciation: At the heart of the MOSAIC Scholars Program is a commitment to valuing all persons. By engaging in dialogue and programming that honors diverse cultures, beliefs, and perspectives, Scholars deepen their cultural competence and foster a community where differences and celebrated as strengths.
- Community Engagement and Outreach: MOSAIC scholars are bridge-builders who connect the Mount to the broader community. Through outreach efforts and partnerships, they serve as ambassadors of respect and inclusion, working to create a campus and community culture rooted in justice and solidarity.
- Personal Growth and Mentorship: The MOSAIC Scholars program prioritizes the personal and professional well-being of each student. Scholars are encouraged to reflect on their identities, develop resilience, and build authentic support systems with peers, faculty, and staff. These connections not only foster individual growth but also equip Scholars to mentor and uplift others, creating a cycle of support that strengthens their entire community.
