Visitation and funeral arrangements set for Mount student

Press Releases

The visitation and funeral arrangements have been set for Jakob Murphy, 24, a Mount student who passed away on Christmas Eve morning.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 28 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the B.J. Meyer Funeral Home, 5864 Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati (Bridgetown) for the visitation. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the College of Mount St. Joseph's Mater Dei Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 10:00 a.m.

Jake died in a one-car accident in Delhi Township. He was a senior majoring in paralegal studies with a minor in business administration. As a student athlete, Jake had participated in the Mount's football program.

"While the loss of a young person is always difficult, the holidays make such a loss even more so," said Doug Frizzell, vice president for student affairs. "Please remember Jake and his grieving family and friends in your thoughts and prayers."

A counselor will be available in the Wellness Center (x4949) today and Friday, and next week for those in the campus community who may want their services.
