In early 2018, MSJ’s Studio San Giuseppe will be accepting submissions from current students, faculty, and staff to participate in the Art for Peace & Justice exhibition. The show will feature works created by local visual artists and poets, which will be presented alongside a body of works from local Cincinnati artist, Saad Ghosn. Ghosn is a political artist from the area who has a focus on the subject of peace and justice.
The exhibition will be displayed from March 5 to April 11, 2018. Responses can be visual (art, dance, cinema, etc.) or written (poetry, prose). Each submission will be considered for exhibition and will be displayed in the appropriate manner, whether in a documentation binder or another resource available within the gallery. Selected exhibitors may be asked to participate in a performance night on March 22, 2018.
All of the submissions are required to somehow relate to an issue, experience, or theme of peace and justice that has inspired the submitting artist to explore a personal, community, or global aspect of the exhibition’s theme. Final deadline for submissions is Feb. 1, 2018.
Everyone in the Mount community is encouraged to apply, and Studio San Giuseppe looks forward to displaying art in support of peace and justice.
