The Mount St. Joseph University Band hosted their Christmas concert on December 6, 2018. Each of the University ensembles performed a section, including the jazz band, University band, and steel drum band. The band also welcomed young musicians from the Oak Hills High School Flute Choir to perform Christmas carols before the concert, while guests were welcomed to homemade cookies and other sweet treats made by the band members.

Two student conductors also made their debuts. Junior music major Beka Drew conducted the University band’s performance of “Sleigh Ride,” and senior music major Zach Neal conducted an arrangement of classic Christmas carols entitled “Christmas Recollections.” Several of the Mount's chamber student ensembles also performed a wide variety of Christmas tunes and other holiday favorites.

The University band and the other various ensembles will continue their concert series next semester, with their Mardi Gras concert on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
