You might be wondering what RWBY is and why it’s currently #2 trending on YouTube. As an action-adventure animated web series by Rooster Teeth, it is summarized as “The story takes place in the world of Remnant, which is filled with supernatural forces and shadowy creatures known as the Grimm. Prior to the events of the series, mankind waged a battle of survival against the Grimm before discovering the power of a mysterious element called Dust, which allowed them to fight back against the monsters. In the present day, Dust is used to power magical abilities and weapons. Those who use these abilities to battle the Grimm are known as Huntsmen and Huntresses. The series focuses on four girls, each with her own unique weapon and powers. Together, they form a team at Beacon Academy in the city of Vale, where they are trained to become Huntresses”.

It is a show that some of my friends really enjoyed in high school, but I didn’t have much interest in it. Right before college, I figured I’d try it, and I began to really like the series. I have watched the whole show twice. After Volume 6 was released on Oct. 27, I even decided to watch it for a third time.

Throughout the series, you’ll sense yourself developing a special attachment to each character that comes along. My friends have unanimously described me as a mix between the characters Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long. From the brave Pyrrha to the wise Professor Ozpin, every character is special, and they have and will continue to shape the rest of the series in their own unique ways.

Overall, I highly recommend watching RWBY and regret not doing it sooner. Everyone can find at least one character they like and relate to them. So, go ahead binge it when you should be studying for that test in the morning. Just be prepared to get lost in the world of Remnant.
