Mount to hold Mount Jubilee and Inauguration Gala on Friday, April 28

Mount St. Joseph University will hold its annual scholarship benefit Mount Jubilee with an Inauguration Gala, to recognize the investiture of President H. James Williams and support the Scholarship Fund. Mount Jubilee and Inauguration Gala takes place on Friday, April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. All proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships for more than 1,000 students each year.

The event emcee will be Brad Johansen, Local 12 News anchor, and the evening features a reception, dinner, awards presentation, dancing, and entertainment by the band Clueless. Cincinnati Insurance Companies and SC Ministry Foundation are the principal sponsors of Mount Jubilee and Inauguration Gala. 

This year’s co-chairs for Mount Jubilee are Robyn Ruede Caponi ’72 and Kathy McMullen. Caponi is a distinguished alumna who was honored with the Ann Rashe Award last year in recognition of her dedication to service, leadership, Catholic education, and the mission of the University. McMullen is a member of the Mount’s board of trustees and is vice president of engagement strategy and analytics at Macy’s, Inc. She also serves on the board of Easter Seals TriState, and previously served on the board of the Girl Scouts, Great Rivers Council.

Mount Jubilee also honors several alumni and community partners with awards. This year, alumna Eileen Ennis Mechley ’62 will be presented with the Ann Rasche Award. The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation, Inc. will be honored with the Trustees Award, and TriHealth will receive the Corporate Partner Award.

In addition, the Future Five Award recipients will be named at Jubilee. The Future Five Award acknowledges alumni who have graduated within the past 20 years and have made significant contributions to their communities and excelled in their careers. This year’s alumni winners include:

Dr. H. James Williams was appointed president of Mount St. Joseph University in March 2016 and devoted his first year to meeting people and getting to know more about the Cincinnati community. His Inauguration Ceremony takes place on the morning of Friday, April 28 at the Mount.
