Mount St. Joseph University is one of 79 colleges and universities to be named as part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, which grades institutions based on their willingness to provide quality resources and experiences for transfer students. “The Transfer Honor Roll recognizes excellence and success in community college transfer pathway development among four-year colleges and universities,” said Phi Theta Kappa in their statement.
Institutions were selected based on their Transfer Friendliness Rating, which Phi Theta Kappa uses to assist transfer students in finding schools that would best fit their needs. The rating is determined through questions asked about a college’s “admission practices, cost of attendance, campus life, recruitment practices and peer reviews,” according to a statement made by the honor society. Only the top 25 percent of colleges who applied were named to receive this distinction.
The Admission Office at the Mount has proven its success at meeting the needs of transfer students through numerous articulation agreements, transfer guidelines, academic pathways, and scholarships.
