As the nation paused on Monday, January 18 to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., thousands of people across the country dedicated their time to a day of service in honor of Dr. King’s impactful legacy. Mount St. Joseph University was included in this “day on, not off” with over 40 students, faculty, and staff volunteering with Americorps members and Habitat for Humanity partner family members on MLK day. Collectively they built seven sheds for Habitat families in the Greater Cincinnati Area.

“This event was an outstanding example of solidarity by the Mount community, who believe in the values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” says Keith Lanser Coordinator for Service Learning at the Mount.

The Mount’s service learning program and community outreach projects are embedded in the University’s mission of “emphasizing values, integrity and social responsibility.” recognizes MSJ on MLK Day.
