Global Human Rights Class Initiates Fundraiser for Bethany House

Academics, Campus News

Dr. Jennifer Morris’ Global Human Rights (GHR) class is spearheading a fundraiser, called the Purse Project, to collect donations for Bethany House, a non-profit organization in Cincinnati. Bethany House’s mission is to “[empower] homeless and at-risk families with solutions to achieve housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency.”

The class’ project was initiated as a collective service project, and will benefit the women in need at Bethany House. Donations are requested for the following items:

  • Combs
  • Snacks
  • Tissues
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Chapstick
  • Gloves
  • Deodorant
  • Feminine Hygiene Products

Collection bins are located outside the Archbishop Alter Library and in the Seton Center, Classroom, and Art Building lobbies. Items will be collected Nov. 1-27, 2017. Students will also be at home basketball games on Nov. 21, 25, and 26 to accept cash donations. 100% of all proceeds will benefit the Bethany House of Cincinnati.
