History Class "Sea, Sail and Song: Early American Maritime History" recently traveled to Maine as part of their coursework, in order to visualize what they have been learning in class, and to experience maritime culture at its core. During a stop in Portland where the class met with Steve Romanoff of Schooner Fare, alumna Mary Jo Briselden ’61, ran into the girls at the waterfront park. Mary Jo and six current Mount students, along with Dr. Elizabeth Bookser Barkley '70, Jessee Smith '99, and Dr. Gene Kritsky, discussed the trip and shared in great conversation.
Rose (Bauer) Koch ’76, saw her 1977 Mother of Mercy volleyball team inducted into the Buddy LaRosa High School Sports Hall of Fame. Then a first-year head coach, Koch guided Mercy to a 27-0 record that included the Class AAA OHSAA state championship. Koch led Mercy volleyball teams advanced to the state semifinals or finals five times over her first six years, winning state championships in 1980 and 1982.
Albin Waldbilig ’11, recently started a full time position at Mount St. Joseph University as Theatre Technical Manager.
Zachary Hacker ’12, recently published his debut novel, Cut Reality, on April 16, 2019.
