Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced her appointment of Kathyleen “Kathy” Clarke Kunkel ’73, of Albuquerque, N.M., as Secretary for the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) in January 2019. Kunkel has worked seven years across different areas of NMDOH, the most recent four as deputy director, overseeing the bureau of behavioral supports, regional offices, litigation management and supported employment at our Developmental Disabilities division.
Juliann Dorff ’74, of Kent, Ohio, was awarded a lifetime achievement award from the National Art Education Association. She is the recipient of the 2019 NAEA, The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), VSA Beverly Levett Gerber Special Needs Lifetime Achievement. This award recognizes an NAEA/SNAE member whose exemplary lifetime career has made a unique and lasting impact on art education’s important role in the lives of people with special needs.
