CINCINNATI, Ohio (February 28, 2018) – Nearly 99 percent of 2017 graduates with a bachelor’s degree from Mount St. Joseph University reported that they were successfully employed, pursuing graduate studies, or volunteering within six months of graduation, according to a survey from the Mount’s Career and Experiential Education Center. The career outcomes rate of 98.5 percent for 2017 MSJ graduates is the highest since the annual survey began and increased three percentage points from the previous year.

The Graduate Employment Survey is conducted in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and captures initial post-graduation plans across a spectrum of full or part-time employment, graduate studies, volunteer service, or military service.

This year’s survey results included an impressive knowledge rate of 91.2 percent, meaning nearly the entire class of 2017 was polled.

The Mount’s School of Behavioral and Natural Sciences and the School of Education saw their 2017 graduates record a perfect 100 percent career outcomes rate.

“These outcomes for our graduates are very impressive in today’s marketplace – in Greater Cincinnati and across the nation,” said H. James Williams, Ph.D., president of the Mount. “This achievement is indicative of the tremendous talents of our alumni as well as the career certainty that comes from an education at the Mount.”

Cooperative education for every major and the Talent Opportunity Program (TOP) are two of the professional development options available to all MSJ students. The Summer Employment Program and Service Learning also make the list for immersive educational experiences at the Mount.

“This is a tremendous pride point for us,” said Linda Pohlgeers, director of the Career and Experiential Education Center. “These outstanding rates affirm our comprehensive career-readiness learning environment and our culture of commitment to each graduate’s long-term success.”

2017 MSJ graduates were hired by a variety of impressive employers, including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Great American Financial Services, Western & Southern Financial Group, Hamilton County, and TriHealth.
