Project SCOPE is held each year during the month of June.
For 25 years, Project SCOPE has served this community by providing African American teens with a summer collegiate experience to prepare them for college. During the past 25 years, over 300 teens have been accepted by a college or university.
With today’s economic realities, we will be concentrating our resources on supporting the needs of our diverse college student population who are in need of financial aid and a full range of college services. Today, families with children in college need assistance so that their children can complete a college degree and graduate successfully.
Current students who participated in Project SCOPE II during summer, 2011 will continue on to SCOPE III and will complete their program in the summer of 2012 on a limited basis. The primary goal for this group will be to complete the coursework to earn the credits that can be applied to an accredited college.
Students who participated in SCOPE I during the summer, 2011 will not return for SCOPE II. No new students will be accepted in Project SCOPE since the program will end after the summer session.
Current students scheduled to participate in Project SCOPE III, which will be held from June 17, through June 29, 2012, will receive specific information about the summer session in January 2012.
The contact person for SCOPE III students is Mr. Dan Van Vechten, Assistant Dean of Students.
Mr. Van Vechten can be reached at 513 244-4304 or by email at: daniel_vanvechten@mail.msj.edu.
