Be still and know that I am God.
– Psalm 40:10
Retreats are a great way to get to know yourself and others better. Retreats are a fundamental part of one’s faith life.
Campus Ministry retreats build upon one another, but participation in retreats at anytime is welcome. We have two freshmen focused retreats, two sophomore through senior focused retreats, and one retreat for all traditional, nontraditional students, faculty and staff. With the guidance of a campus minister, all retreats have a team of students who plan all the prayers, talks and activities of the retreat.
Our retreat offerings include:
Freshmen Retreats
Beginnings is a 24 hour get away from campus retreat for first year students. The goal is for the students to get to know their fellow classmates while being introduced to Campus Ministry. With a planning team of 5 upper class students, Beginnings is a retreat with a mixture of fun and faith. Beginnings is September 26-27, 2008.
Discover is a follow up retreat to Beginnings with the planning team being completely made up of freshmen. This overnight retreat is a time for further exploration of the role of faith in first year students’ lives as college students. Discover builds friendship and community among the freshmen
class. Discover is February 27-28, 2009.
Sophomore – Senior Retreats
Metanoia is a weekend long retreat where students examine where they have had a “change of heart” in their lives. The goal is for students to recognize the changes in their lives and the blessings these changes can bring. Metanoia has a team of students who plan all the prayers, talks and activities for the whole weekend. Metanoia is October 3-5, 2008.
Agape is a weekend long retreat focused on “God’s Love” in our lives. We explore faith with others and with self. Agape incorporates personal reflection to deepen one’s relationship with God. Agape is March 27-29, 2009.

Retreat for All
Busy Persons Retreat is a week long on campus retreat for all busy people of the Mount community – faculty, staff, traditional and nontraditional students. The week asks participants to make at least two commitments: 1) Participants commit to 30 minutes of personal prayer time and 2) Participants commit to meet with a spiritual mentor (a Sister of Charity) five times during the week for 30 minutes. The goal is for participants to make prayer a priority in their daily lives. Busy Persons Retreat is April 1-8, 2009.
