September 11th and Veterans Day Observances - A special time of reflection and rememberance is observed on campus for these historically significant events. In collaboration with Campus Ministry and Student Development the Mount community is encouraged to celebrate the diversity of our country.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration - This event is co-sponsored with Campus Ministry to reflect and give honor to the efforts of Dr. King. It also is a time for the Mount Community to examine ways to plan and implement the thrust of peace and equity throughout the campus community.
African American History Month Program - African American History Month features a variety of activities designed to share aspects of the African American heritage with the College community. Festivities throughout the month include poetry readings, keynote speakers, performing artists, lectures, and films.
Kwanzaa - The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides information and activities for this African American cultural holiday celebrated December 26-January 1.
Lectures and Workshops - Through featured guest speakers, workshops and group presentations the Office of Multicultural Affairs provides programs which strive to develop a campus environment that fosters unity among all student groups, faculty and staff at the Mount. Emphasis is on building awareness and appreciation of multiculturalism on campus, and to encourage interaction among students from different cultures.
