Richard Haubner, associate professor of social work, and junior social work major Matthew Grosser presented their paper titled “The Experience of Recreational Music-Making Among Older Adults: A Phenomenological Study” at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education in Cincinnati, March 19.
Karen Holtgrefe, associate professor and chair of physical therapy, presented the poster “Factors Affecting Functional Mobility and Discharge Planning of Patients Status post Total Knee or Hip Arthroplasty: a Prospective Chart Review” at the 2011 Ohio Physical Therapy Association Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio, April 8. The study was a collaboration with physical therapists at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati.
Sharon Kesterson Bollen, professor of art, served as the invited judge for the Regional Scholastic Art Awards high school seniors’ portfolio finalists in February. Ten percent of the area entrants are selected to be forwarded to NYC for national consideration of college scholarships. Sharon also served as the judge for the annual Hyde Park Square Art Show - Fiber Arts category on April 2.

His paper "The Bigger Picture: A Collaborative Search for Foundations Unity" was part of the session titled "A Separate Piece - Do Fine Art and Design Need Different Foundations Programs?"

The first song was "Senor Blues," originally recorded by Horace Silver; the second was Jerome Kern's "All the Things You Are," which was co-arranged with XUJE director John DeFoor.
