Philip Amalong - Department Chair
Philip is an assistant professor in music at the College. Before coming to the college in 1997, Professor Amalong was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with degrees in piano performance and collaborative piano. He was a student of Frank Weinstock and Sandra Rivers. He is an award-winning pianist, chamber musician and recording artist. His recordings can be found on Eroica Classical Recordings. He performs throughout the United States and Europe.

Ulrike Brinksmeier, M.M.
A native of Germany, harpist Ulrike Brinksmeier received her master’s degree in harp performance from the Juilliard School of Music in 1982. Ms. Brinksmeier joined the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 1990 and headed the harp department until June of 2003.  Locally she has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Ballet and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and has soloed with the Cincinnati Baroque Orchestra, the Cincinnati Philharmonia Orchestra and the Cincinnati Community Orchestra. Ms. Brinksmeier can be heard in solo and chamber- recitals throughout the Tri-state area.

Lynn Poynter, M.Ed. 
Lynn Poynter received a Master of Education Degree in Supervision and Curriculum from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1978 and a Bachelor of Music from Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1970.  Since that time she has earned approximately 45+ post-masters hours in the areas of supervision, curriculum, and education.  During her 30 year career as an educator she was employed in Hamilton City Schools in Hamilton, Ohio, and in Oak Hills Local Schools in Cincinnati, Ohio. While employed in these districts she instructed students in grades 1 through 6 in general music, vocal music, beginning band, and an extracurricular show choir and students in grades 7 through 9 in general music, vocal music, and show choir. Several of the groups under her direction have performed at Kid’s Fest, Tall Stacks, Ohio State University, and Walt Disney World.
