Biography: Dr. Dehner is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and also serves as the department's admissions chairperson. She received her Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University.
Dr. Dehner began her career as a physical therapist treating orthopedic injuries in an outpatient setting but now devotes her clinical time to evaluating and treating older adults in long-term care settings. She also has a background as a researcher in the field of neurobiology and has multiple publications. Her current scholarship is focused on the older adult, particularly pharmacologic implications for physical therapy management.
Professor Dehner's teaching responsibilities include pathophysiology, pharmacology, neuroscience, basic patient care skills, and geriatric evaluation and treatment.
