Biography:  Dr. Trokan is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Religious and Pastoral Studies. He has taught courses in Christian Scriptures, Pastoral Theology and Ministry, Appalachian and Lakota Culture and Spirituality, Theology of Community and Leadership, Theology of Marriage and Family, and Life Through Death.

Professor Trokan earned a D.Min. from the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois, and an M.A. in Religious Studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A specialist in scripture and pastoral ministry, he was the 1993 recipient of the Mount's Clifford Teaching Excellence Award, and the 2004 Elizabeth Seton Award for contributions to the Charity mission.

Dr. Trokan's hobbies include gardening, cycling, hiking, and running. He is also an active member of the Hills of Dulcimer Club and plays the mountain dulcimer and the accordian.
