Read what Elizabeth Barkley has to say:
Among the passions of my life are reading, writing, and cherished relations with children, grandchildren, sisters and friends. Although my area of doctoral studies is nineteenth-century American literature, I often curl up in front of a fire with a bestselling novel or history as a companion. I am a devotee of the local arts and team-teach an Honors course called The Cincinnati Arts Scene. My writing includes several books of reflections (for mothers and women) and many feature stories. On the faculty of the Mount part-time since 1978 and fulltime since 1990, I am proud to call myself a Mount alum.
Five books that have touched my life (for their style and insight into life)

The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
