Biography: Dr. Pitts is an assistant professor in the Department of Business Administration and teaches courses in economics. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Applied Economics from Mississippi State University as well as a B.S. in Mathematics from Mississippi State University.
Professor Pitts' primary research interest is the role of race in determining economic outcomes. His current research focuses on how labor market discrimination impacts the human capital investment decisions of disadvantaged groups as well as overall economic growth.
Dr. Pitts' personal interests include spending time with his wife and dog as well as watching sports and movies.
