Degrees: Ph.D., M.S., University of Michigan; B.A., Kalamazoo College

Biography: Dr. Fischer is an associate professor of physics in the Department of Chemistry. Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Professor Fischer received his B.A. in Physics and Math as a double major from Kalamazoo College. In 1991, he earned his M.S. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and in 1998 he received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Department of Physics. His dissertation is entitled, "Characterization of Local Motions in Proteins Detected by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Relaxation Studies."

Dr. Fischer's personal interests including geocoaching, jazz and trumpet.
