5/17/08     Rayshawn Eastman and Randall Mitchell compete at the North Central College Last Chance Meet

Rayshawn Eastman
(Princeton/Cincinnati, OH) was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles and Lions' teammate Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) placed 12th in the discus throw at the North Central College Last Chance Meet. Eastman recorded a time of 54.10. Mitchell reached a distance of 141-08 in the discus throw.

The meet closes the 2008 Track & Field season for the Mount.

5/9/08     Two Mount student-athletes compete at the IU Billy Hayes Invitational

Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was 11th in the 400 meter hurdles while teammate Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was eighth in the discus throw today at the Indiana University Billy Hayes Invitational. Eastman ran a 54.52 while Mitchell's throw of 154-01 was his best of the season.

Both Mitchell and Eastman will compete in the May 15-16 North Central College Last Chance Meet in an attempt to qualify to the NCAA National Outdoor Track & Field meet.


5/1/08     Rayshawn Eastman and Randall Mitchell named All-HCAC

Mount teammates Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) and Randall Mitchell (Columbis, OH/Eastmoor Academy) have been named All-HCAC by virtue of winning an event at last weekend's HCAC Championship.

Eastman, a senior, was first in the 400 meter hurdles while Mitchell, a sophomore, was first in the shot put. The HCAC award was the first for Eastman while Mitchell is a two-time All-HCAC winner. He was first last season, too, in shot put at the HCAC Championship.

4/26/08     Mount places sixth at the HCAC Championships

The Lions competed at the HCAC Championships this weekend and came in sixth in the team standings.  

Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) claimed the conference championship in the 400 meter hurdles and placed second in the triple jump. Teammate Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was first in the shot put. Ben Weidner (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) was third in the 800 meter run while Mitchell was third in the discus throw.

4/21/08     Lions' Ben Weidner wins HCAC weekly honor

The Mount’s Ben Weidner (Cincinnati, OH/Elder), who finished first in the 800 meters and 1,500 meters at the Earlham College Invitational this past weekend, has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. The sophomore finished in a time of 2:04.76 in the 800 meters and posted a season best time of 4:22.03 in the 1,500 meters. The Lions finished second behind Earlham in the event

4/19/08     Mount finishes as runner-up at the Earlham College Invitational

The Lions competed at the Earlham College Invitational today and finished second to host Earlham College. The Lions are back in action at the April 25-26 HCAC Championships.

First place finishes at Earlham College were turned in by: David Davis (Longwood, FL/Lake Mary), 100 meter dash; Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton), 400 meter dash; Ben Weidner (Cincinnati, OH/Elder), 800 and 1500 meter run; Jeff Schroer (Cincinnati, OH/Elder, 5000 meter run; and Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy), shot put.

4/12/08     Lions compete at the All-Ohio Division III Championships

The Mount traveled to the All-Ohio Division III Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University today, competing in two relay races, the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400. They placed ninth and 13th respectively. They were tied for 18th place in the team standings.

The Lions are back in action on April 19 at the Earlham College Invitational. 

4/5/08     Mount records 11th place showing at the DePauw University Invitational

Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was second in the shot put today at the DePauw University Invitational as the Mount was 11th in the team standings. Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was third in the 400 meter hurdles and seventh in the 110 meter hurdles.

The Lions' 4 x 400 meter relay team of Ben Weidner (Cincinnati, OH/Elder), Eastman, James Pursley (Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine) and Zach Shaw (Wyoming, OH/Wyoming) recorded a school-record time of 3:33.11 and placed eighth.

The Mount is back in action on April 12 at the All-Ohio Division III Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University.

3/29/08     Mount records a ninth place finish at the Cedarville University Collegiate Open

(Cincinnati, OH/Elder) was second in the 800 run today as the Mount finished ninth at the Cedarville University College Open. Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was third in the 400 meter hurdles.

The Mount will be back in action on April 5 at the DePauw University Open.

3/22/08     Lions in action at the Rhodes College Invitational

The Lions were in action this past weekend at the Rhodes College Open meet. Rayshawn Eastman (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) was eighth in the 400-meter run while Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was sixth in the shot put.

2/23/08     Mount competes at The Runners Forum Invitational

The Lions got a second place finish today in the 1000 meter run from Jeff Schroer (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) while teammate Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was second in the shot put at The Runners Forum Invitational at Anderson University. The meet was a non-scoring invitational.

The Mount is back in action on March 7 when they compete at the DePauw University NCAA Division III National Indoor qualifier.

2/16/08   Lions record sixth place finish at the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational

Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) was second in the shot put and the Lions' 4x200 meter relay team was third today at the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational, leading the Mount to a sixth place finish. Tyrone Jones (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) was fourth in the long jump.

The Mount is back in action on Feb. 23 at the Anderson University Invitational.

2/9/08     Mount opens the 2008 season at the Wabash Open Indoor Invitational

The Mount competed in the Wabash Open Indoor Invitational today. Team scores were not recorded but the Lions turned in some solid performances in their first action of the season.

Ben Weidner (Cincinnati, OH/Elder) was fifth in the 800 run, while the 4 X 200 meter relay team was fourth. Randall Mitchell (Columbus, OH/Eastmoor Academy) came in sixth in the shot put.

The Lions return to action on Feb. 16 at the Hoosier-Buckeye Invitational.

1/16/08     Lions set to begin 2008 Track & Field season

The Mount will begin the 2008 season on Feb. 9 when they travel to the Wabash College Invitational. Their first outdoor meet will take place on Mar. 22 when they compete in the Rhodes College Invitational.
