4/30/08     Mount ends season with a 17-8 setback at Washington & Jefferson College

The Lions jumped out to leads of 5-1 and 6-2 tonight before eventually falling at Washington & Jefferson College, 17-8. Taylor Samuel (Prospect, KY/Ballard) had three goals for the Lions while teammate Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) added two goals. Samuel also had four assists.

The Mount completed the 2008 season with a 4-11 record.

4/26/08     Lions fall at home to Adrian College in a closely-contested game, 13-11

The Mount fell to 4-10 this season with their fifth loss in a row, losing today at home to Adrian College, 13-11. The Mount completes 2008 play with an April 30 game at Washington & Jefferson College.

The Lions were led aganst Adrian by Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin), who tallied three goals and four assists. Neal Barnes (Carmel, IN/Westfield) and Michael Basch (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) added two goals in the loss.

4/23/08     Lions drop home game to Ohio Wesleyan University

Visiting Ohio Wesleyan University scored the first seven goals of the game tonight and they went on to a 16-5 win over the Lions. The Mount, 4-9 this season, will conclude 2008 home action on April 26 when they host Adrian College. OWU is now 8-5 on the season.

The Lions, who were out-scored by only a 5-4 margin in the second half of action tonight, got two goals from Anthony Pezzutti (Westervile, OH/St. Francis DeSales) and two assists from Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin).

4/20/08     Mount falls to 4-8 on the season with a 14-5 home loss to Fontbonne University

Visiting Fontbonne University jumped out to a 10-1 halftime lead en route to a 14-5 win tonight against the Mount. The Lions are now 4-8 on the season and return to action on April 23 with a home game against Ohio Wesleyan University.

The two teams played even on the scoreboard in the second half, with each recording four goals. Anthony Pezzutti (Westerville, OH/St. Francis DeSales) and teammate Neal Barnes (Carmel, IN/Westfiel had two goals each for the Mount, while Pezzutti also added an assist.

4/13/08     Mount drops 12-6 game at home to St. Vincent College

Visiting St. Vincent College scored the first six goals today as the went on to a 12-6 win at the Mount. The Lions are now 4-7 on the season while St. Vincent goes to 3-6. The Mount returns to play on April 20 when they host Fontbonne College at 7 p.m.

Anthony Pezzutti (Westerville, OH/St. Francis DeSales) had three goals for the Mount while teammate Kristopher Kalin (St. Charles, MO/Christian Brothers College) chipped in three assists.

4/8/08     Lions fall to Kenyon College on the road

Host Kenyon College jumped out to a 9-1 lead today en route to a 15-3 win over the Mount today. The Lions, who slip to 4-6 on the season, will host St. Vincent College on April 13.

Taylor Samuel (Prospect, KY/Ballard) scored twice for the Mount in the game.

4/5/08     Mount records a 13-11 win at Oberlin College

Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) scored four goals today and teammate Kristopher Kalin (St. Charles, MO/Christian Brothers College) added three goals in helping the Mount to a 13-11 win at Oberlin College. The Lions are now 4-5 and will play April 8 at Kenyon College.

4/2/08     Mount falls by a 19-3 score at home to Denison University

The Lions scored the first goal of the game tonight but visiting Denison University recorded 11 unanswered goals to take a commanding lead in the game en route to a 19-3 victory. The Mount is now 3-5 overall while Denison goes to 6-2.

The Lions got goals from three different players while Michael Basch (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) picked up two points with a goal and an assist in the game. The Mount is back in action on April 5 at Oberlin College.

3/30/08     Lions run record to 3-4 on the season with a 9-5 home win over Sewanee: The University of the South

The Mount jumped out to leads of 5-1 and 8-2 today en route to a 9-5 home victory against Sewanee: The University of the South. The Lions are now 3-4 on the season while Sewanee goes to 3-5. The Mount resumes action on April 2 when they host Denison University at 7:30 p.m.

Kristopher Kalin (Saint Charles, MO/Christian Brothers College) had three goals while teammate Neal Barnes (Carmel, IN/Westfield) chipped in two goals and two assists in the game. Eric Wolery (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota West) started and played the entire game in goal, picking up his first collegiate win. The Mount out-shot their opponent 41-30 and led by a 7-2 score at the half.

3/22/08     Lions fall in overtime at Shenandoah University, 7-6

Host Shenandoah University scored the game-winning goal 3:45 into overtime to record a 7-6 win over the Mount today. The Lions are now 2-4 on the season and will be back in action on March 30 when they play at home against Sewanee:The University of the South at 12 p.m.

The Lions trained by a 4-3 margin at the half, but tied the game three times in the second half, the last on a goal by Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) with 55 seconds to play which knotted score at 6-all. Noel had two goals and two assists in the game while teammate Anthony Pezzutti (Westerville, OH/St. Francis DeSales) also chipped in two goals.

3/20/08     Mount falls at Randolph-Macon College, 16-4

The Lions trailed by only 3-1 and 5-2 margins tonight before eventually falling at Randolph-Macon College, 16-4. The Lions are now 2-3 on the season and are back in action on March 22 at Shenandoah University.

Michael Basch (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) scored in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 2-1 and teammate Kristopher Kalin (Saint Charles, MO/Christian Brothers College) scored in the second half to make the score 5-2 before the host team scored nine unanswered goals to take a commanding lead. Kalin and Taylor Samuel (Prospect, KY/Ballard) added late third quarter goals to complete the Mount's scoring in the game.

3/18/08     Mount falls by a 14-3 score at home to Wittenberg University

Visiting Wittenberg University jumped out to an 8-0 advantage in the second quarter and never looked back as they knocked off the host Lions tonight, 14-3. The Mount evens its record at 2-2 on the season while Wittenberg goes to 3-1.

Mike Murphy (Crestwood, KY/South Oldham), Neal Barnes (Carmel, IN/Westfield) and Anthony Mercho (Fishers, IN/Bishop Chatard) each scored goals for the Lions, who return to action on March 20 at Randolph-Macon College.

3/15/08     Lions post 9-8 overtime win at Tri-State University

Michael Basch (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) scored 3:13 into overtime today as the Mount posted a 9-8 victory at Tri-State University. The Lions, 2-1 on the season, will play at home on March 18 against Wittenberg University.

Basch had four goals in the game while Anthony Pezzutti (Westerville, OH/St. Francis DeSales) scored twice. Teammate Trevor Noel (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) had three assists. Blake Herner (Louisville, KY/Trinity) picked up the win in goal.

The Lions led 7-5 after three quarters only to see the Thunder tie the game at 8-all with just over a minute left in regulation.

3/5/08       Lions fall at home to The College of Wooster, 11-1

Visiting College of Wooster jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and the Lions cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first quarter, before the Scots shutdown the Mount's offense en route to a 11-1 win tonight. Wooster goes to 2-0 on the season while the Lions record is even at 1-1.

Kristopher Kalin (St. Charles, MO/Christian Brothers College) scored the Mount's lone goal with an assist from teammate Taylor Samuel (Prospect, KY/Ballard).

The Lions are back in action on March 15 at Tri-State University.

2/25/08     Mount wins season-opener with a 12-8 win at home over Davenport University

The Lions jumped out to a 6-1 lead the half en route to a 12-8 season-opening win today at home against Davenport University. Davenport falls to 3-1 with the loss. The victory was the first collegiate win for first-year Head Coach Pat Kennedy, an assistant last year for the Mount's inagural team. The Mount was 1-12 last season.

Neal Barnes (Carmel, IN/Westfield) had three goals for the Mount while four teammates had two goals each. Michael Basch (Cincinnati, OH/McNicholas) chipped in two goals and two assists. Blake Herner (Louisville, KY/Trinity) started in goal and played the first half, allowing only one goal and recording five saves. Eric Wolery (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota West) played the second half in goal and had nine saves.

2/23/08     Lions season opener vs. Kenyon College postponed

The Mount's season opening game today at Kenyon College was postponed due to weather conditions. No make-up date has been scheduled.

The Lions are slated to open the home portion of their 2008 schedule on Feb. 25 when they host Davenport University at 4 p.m.

1/3/08     Mount set to open the 2008 season with a game at Kenyon College

The Lions will begin the 2008 season, under first-year coach Pat Kennedy, on Feb. 23 when they play at Kenyon College. The Mount hosts its first game of the season on Feb. 25 when they take on Davenport University at 4:00 p.m.
