Charlene Linsenmeyer Farrell ’71 was the recipient of the 2011 Alumni Career Achievement Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in career/vocational fields. Obtaining a degree in nursing from the College of Mount St. Joseph, Charlene carried with her the passion to providing the best care for every patient that she saw. In 1983, she became executive director of Hospice of Huntington. Today, she is the president and CEO of Hospice of Huntington. Charlene still finds time to volunteer, and helped with bereavement counseling after the September 11 attacks in New York City. She also served as a volunteer in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Kateri Maureen Koverman, SC, was the recipient of the 2011 Sister Mary Lea Human Service Award. This award recognizes an individual that devotes his/her life to service for others. Sister Kateri is a Sister of Charity and devotes her time to God and people who have been forgotten by others. She has worked around the world service in places such as Vietnam, El Salvador and Ethiopia. Sister Kateri founded the Joseph House, a residential treatment facility for homeless veterans diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and served as the clinical director from 1993-2000. In 2001, she established, and is the current director of Them Bones Veteran Community in Cincinnati. She also still found time to dedicate 15 years of part-time teaching to the Mount.
Jeanne Marquard Stuntz ’81 was the recipient of the 2011 Alumni Volunteer Leadership Award. This award honors outstanding service to the College. Graduating in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in music education and music therapy, she began her career as a music therapist with a large facility. Today, Jeanne is a minority owner and vice president of On The Mark Services, a company provides in-home services to people with developmental disabilities. She is also the owner and president of Dynamic Pathways, Inc., a training and consulting company focused on serving the developmental disability industry. As a current Alumni Board member, Jeanne serves on the Nomination and Awards Committee. She is an active member of the Columbus Chapter and has served as a committee chair for class reunions.
Gloria Cordova ’61 was the recipient of the 2011 Loretta Richards Distinguished Alumni Award. This award recognizes career and/or vocational achievements and service to the College. Gloria entered the Sisters of Charity in Cincinnati and studied subjects such as sociology, psychology science and education through the Mount. After 12 years in the convent, she returned to the West to teach science in high school. After 18 years of teaching, she began a new career at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. In her professional experiences, she has worked with leadership training, self-discovery and advocacy for women and girls. As a leader in the American Association of University Women, she worked tirelessly to create positive change and promote education and equality for women. Later in life, Gloria decided to pursue a doctorate. Through miles away from Delhi, Gloria has remained a supporter of the College.
