At the College of Mount St. Joseph, students can take their learning outside of the classroom with programs in study abroad as well as travel study and cultural immersion.
Study Abroad
Currently, the Mount maintains a partnership with Huron University, England, to offer a formal study abroad option to Mount students for one or two semesters. However, there are study abroad programs around the world for college students. Students are encouraged to speak with the director of international programs if they wish to study abroad. E-mail Dr. Michael Klabunde at michael_klabunde@mail.msj.edu to discuss the many options.
Travel Study
Travel study programs are international learning opportunities similar to study abroad but for shorter time frames. Different locations are offered throughout the year and include Egypt, Berlin, Japan, Greece, Ghana, Rome, and more. Individual academic departments organize travel study programs. E-mail Dr. Michael Klabunde at michael_klabunde@mail.msj.edu to discuss travel study.
Cultural Immersion
For students desiring a service component in their learning, the cultural immersion courses are organized through the Department of Religious and Pastoral Studies and are based within the U.S. Courses offer field experiences in places such as the Appalachian Mountains, Red Cloud Mission, S.D., Cherokee, N.C., and the U.S./Mexico border.
