Nicki Veldhaus
Title: Assistant Director for Adult and Transfer Student Recruitment
Admission Area: Adult Students
Alma Mater: College of Mount St. Joseph 1992
Nicki came to the Mount as an admission counselor after 18 years in the corporate world. While working for the General Electric Corporation, she completed her BS degree at the Mount using the weekend and accelerated program. This allows her to speak first-hand about her experiences as an adult student at the Mount. “I can associate well with the concerns that adult and transfer students may have about returning to college.” In addition to her work as an admission counselor, she also is a transfer credit analyst and is an adjunct instructor for the Mount’s professional development course – a class that helps students develop skills necessary for the job market, including resume writing and interviewing. Nicki also is involved in the local community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and most recently involved as a volunteer career counselor and mentor at the Vineyard Community Church in Tri County. “I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to mentor and motivate students in and out of the classroom.”
