Intervention Specialist
The Special Education program prepares the intervention specialist to work in a variety of settings in order to meet the needs of students with learning or behavioral needs (ages five through 21). The College of Mount St. Joseph offers a program for students in the mild/moderate licensure area. The role of the intervention specialist in supporting students in inclusive settings is critical. The program ensures that graduates are prepared to work in collaborative and consulting roles based on training and field experiences in general education as well as in non-categorical special education.

The program of study for intervention specialist licensure prepares the preprofessional teacher to assess the needs and to provide a high quality education for students with exceptionalities. The program is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and approved by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).  Technology is infused throughout the required course work.
