Presentation of a portfolio to the art faculty by prospective students is encouraged but not required. Formal admission to the Department of Art & Design is contingent upon submission of a portfolio of college-level work to the art faculty for its review and determination. at the end of the foundation year.
The portfolio is to be submitted after completion of 18 hours of art courses at the Mount. This procedure usually occurs in the second semester of the sophomore year. Transfer students may apply after the completion of 18 hours of art courses at the college level, with the last six hours completed at the Mount.
