In compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the College of Mount St. Joseph provides access and accommodations for students with physical or mental impairments that substantially limit or restrict one or more of such major life activities as walking, seeing, hearing, or learning.
The Learning Center provides eligible students with reasonable academic access accommodations to meet their individual needs, as well as advocacy assistance on disability related issues. Eligibility for academic access accommodations depends on the nature of the impairment and its impact on the particular individual. Accommodations will be based on documentation from a qualified professional. In most cases, documentation should be no more than three years old.
Students with qualifying impairments who seek accommodations should self-identify their needs to the Director of The Learning Center as early as possible after acceptance to the College (ideally, at least eight weeks prior to the beginning of the semester).
