Individual Career Consultation
The Career Center offers individual sessions for students and alumni seeking guidance. Based on the needs of the student, the counselor will design a program that may include such things as assessments, informational interviewing, further coursework or reflection. CED 150 Career Exploration for Undeclared Majors
A one credit hour course for students in their freshman and sophomore years that have not chosen a major. Topics covered include career decision making and how interests, skills and values relate to career choices. Students acquire information about educational and career options. Emphasis is on self-evaluation, decision making and goal setting.
Resume Critique
Students and alumni may submit their resume to the Career and Experiential Education Center to be critiqued by a staff member. It is recommended that you make a follow-up appointment to discuss the resume with a career advisor.
Workshops and Seminars
A variety of career-related workshops are offered each semester. Workshop topics typically include, job search strategies, interviewing skills and graduate school search
Mock Interview Program
Students and alumni may receive feedback before an upcoming job interview by completeting a mock interview with a career advisor.
On Campus Recruiting
Employers may sometimes choose to come to campus to recruit students. The Career Center will advertise the company to the majors requested.
Spring Employment Fair
Every year, the Career and Experiential Education Center hosts the Spring Employment Fair. Students interested in Cooperative Education or graduate employment are encouraged to attend to network with employers.
Career Resource Library
The publications in the Career Resource Library in the Career and Experiential Education Center can help you become an informed career planner and job searcher.
The Career Resource Library contains over 300 books, periodicals, videos, and published reports on career exploration, resume writing, effective cover letters, interviewing skills, job search strategies, career development, business and organization directories, graduate school information, salary surveys, and employment trends.
This booklet is designed to help identify and describe available fields of study and career-related opportunities.
