The Honors Program is a close-knit community of highly-motivated students and experienced faculty. Together they tailor a variety of learning experiences to fit within students’ academic needs. Students are challenged to see connections among various disciplines and to gain an integrated view of the world around them.
To be part of the program, all eligible students are encouraged to enroll in the Honors section of IDS 100 Freshman Seminar and experience what Honors is at the Mount:a diversity of students and a variety of course work. At the midterm point of the course, students may apply to the Honors Program.
An Honors student can major in any of the undergraduate programs at the Mount. If an Honors course does not exist in an area of study, students can work with faculty to design extra work in a standard class to earn Honors credits. With the Mount’s small class sizes, students receive the personal attention necessary to achieve academic and personal success.
